*I have also shared my secret tip below, so keep on reading.

Leftover pizzas are my all time favourite. The only problem i had eating them was its doesn’t taste the same after reheating as freshly baked pizza tasted. I tried different methods but none of the method gave the taste same as freshly baked. But i never gave up on it. I tried different methods of reheating pizza from pan to microwave everything was tried by me. But none of them worked for me.

Recently, i bought COSORI Air Fryer Oven Combo 5.8QT Max Xl Large Cooker so i thought why not try reheating my last nights pizza slices in it. As it (my new air fryer) was new i was exploring different ways of its usage. And guess what it turned out the best till date, among all my efforts made to achieve the best taste of pizza after reheating.

My secret tip

So, here comes the part for my secret tip and the process of reheating which satisfied me the most while using an air fryer.

Leftover pizzas are always too dry after being left so long in refrigerator or even in normal room temperature too. Its cheese layer gets so dry and hard that after looking at it you might lose interest in it. Even thin crust pizza’s crust also gets so dry and crisp.

Therefore, to make it soft and give it a fresh look i spray water on each side of the pizza slice. Remember just 2 3 press of spray to provide my pizza slice enough moisture to become soft.

Point to Remember…

There is a thin line between making your pizza soft or turning it to soggy. So, be careful do not over spray your pizza. Just few press to provide moisture.

How to avoid sogginess in pizza?

By following the below mentioned steps you will get the non-soggy pizza. There are different tips by which you can avoid sogginess in your pizza. Lets find out.

  1. Do not keep hot pizza in an air tight or closed container. Let it cool before keeping in any container. (If you keep freshly baked or recent reheated pizza in a air tight or closed container it will create moist in the container which ultimately make your pizza soggy).
  2. Do not overlap hot pizza slices.
  3. Do not dish out pizzas in a wet plate/ box/ container.
  4. In short, you have to avoid all possible ways that has moisture or water in any condition.

What are the other ways to reheat pizza other than an air fryer?

I have tried different ways like:

On pan

Reheating on a pan, but failed because its cheesy part get stick to my pan and create a mess and my pizza’s cheese layer also gets off usually.

In a microwave

This one is quite satisfying comparetively. I tried it for years. But after knowing the radiation side effects caused by a microwave, I switched from it.

In an oven

I don’t know how many of you are fan of an oven but definitely i am not. I always get my hands burn whenever i used oven. Having it’s gloves on, my hand feel like more uncomfortable. So, if you are good at it then definitely oven is also a good option for you. But i feel it makes the pizza slices more crisper or may be its due to my timing or what. Plus you have to keep foil or use any oven safe material to keep your pizza inside.

Double boiler method

You might be thinking, i am crazy. But yes, the love for my pizza let me to do this method too. I was not getting satisfied with my reheating methods so, once melting my chocolate by using double boiler method i got this idea of reheating pizza slice in it.

But again, my slice got soft and reheated but the cheese layer was not as cheesy as it should be. I flipped it and guess what my cheese got too cheesy and sticky that it created a mess. So, it was a failed attempt once again.

What is the best way to reheat leftover pizza?

The best way i found is reheating it in an air fryer. From past few years I have been using different ways to reheat my pizza. But among them the best way i found is reheating my pizza slices in an air fryer.

The best part of this process is that you do not need to grease your air fryer and didn’t even need to flip it to melt the frozen cheese. No foils or extra instructions needed. Just preheat your air fryer and leave your pizza slices for few minutes like 3 to 8 minutes. Depending how hot, soft or crispy you want your slice to be.

Is it safe to reheat pizza in an air fryer?

Definitely, yes. Air fryer is the safest and most easiest option till now for me. Being a health conscious person, dont judge me on my love for pizzas. (Chuckles).

I found air fryer the safest option for cooking, reheating, baking and above al it air fried your food without oil.

The air technology used in an air fryer made me satisfied because i left microwave because of its unhealthy radiations. So, do not want to invest in any other appliance that is similar to microwave. So, yeah its totally safe to reheat your leftover pizzas in an air fryer. You can even bake your pizzas in it.

How long to reheat pizza in an air fryer?

Approximately 5 minutes on an average. You can adjust timing according to your needs. It can be for 3 minutes or even for 8 minutes. But not more than this would be needed.

Final Thoughts:

I hope all your concerns about reheating pizza in an air fryer might have been answered. This is based on my personal experience and being a pizza lover I never gave up on my reheating methods till i get the most satisfying results.
